Moto Twelve National Sportbike Championship R2 Race Report<\/h1><\/span><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/span>Great improvements made at Donington Park<\/h2><\/span><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>![\"Four](\"https:\/\/www.cfmoto.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/DSC0279-1200x801.webp\" "\\"_DSC0279\\"")
<\/span><\/div>The team headed to their local circuit, Donington Park for the second round of the 2026 season, with mixed weather, creating colder track conditions.<\/p>\n
Practice and qualifying sessions went well for both riders, trying various setups ahead of the two races over the weekend. Qualifying proved tougher with so many bikes out on the track and trying to get a clear lap, but both riders pushed through and came out 10th and 18th on the grid ahead of race one.<\/p>\n
Race one on Saturday saw Davie finish in 6th position, only 3 seconds behind the race winner and Willis in 20th, 24 seconds behind the winner. In a competitive class, where there can be 40 bikes out on track, we are happy with the progress both riders are making with every race.<\/p>\n
An exciting race two on Sunday morning, saw just how much progress has been made with the CFMOTO 675SR-R, with our best result of the season so far.<\/p>\n
Davie held the fastest lap for the majority of the race, holding his own amongst the top riders in the class. Racing is tough within the top 6, with positions changing at every corner, but Davie stayed strong throughout and got up to 2nd position, catching up with Davidson. Unfortunately, an incident on lap 8, seen Davie and Harris come together. Both riders were lucky to stay in the race, but dropped down in race positions. With only 4 laps to go, Davie pushed on making great progress yet again and coming in 4th over the line, only 0.8 seconds behind the race winner, and getting the fastest lap of the race in his final lap.<\/p>\n
Willis also got off to a great start in race two and had his own battles throughout the race, against the Aprillas’ of Cook, Kent and Barnes. With his best result of the season so far, and besting his results from race one, Willis came in 13th and only 13 seconds behind the winner.<\/p>\n
Racing Director Eddie Roberts commented: “A very positive weekend at Donington. Adon showed that he is able to run at the front with the Moto Twelve CFMOTO 675SR-R, in what is arguably the closest fought class at BSB.\u201d<\/p>\n
“Peter is showing great progress and is improving in every race. Coming from a Moto 3 bike to a much more powerful and heavier Sportbike takes some adjusting to. I am very pleased with Peters progress and am sure we will see him in the top 10 very soon!\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cCredit must go to Ally, Nige and the rest of the team for the extraordinary efforts in not only presenting two of the best looking and performing bikes out there, but also in getting the new race truck prepared to look the part in the paddock.\u201d<\/p>\n
The team will be heading to Davies\u2019 home circuit of Knockhill for round three of the Championship, where we are positive we can get another good result and valuable points.<\/p>\n
In the meantime, we head off to the Isle of Man for the inaugural Sportbike TT, with road riders Shaun Anderson and Jamie Cringle who will be giving the CFMOTO 675SR-R\u2019s their first taste of real road racing at the worlds most historic Motorcycle Race.<\/p>\n
