Adventure Motorbike Segment BOOMS as sales rise by 33.7% in 2026
Adventure bike sales up in the UK
The UK adventure motorcycle segment is experiencing significant momentum in 2026, according to the latest report from the Motorcycle Industry Association (MCIA).
Year-to-date sales have risen by 33.7%, increasing from 1,279 units in February 2025 to 1,710 units in February 2026, highlighting the demand amongst riders for these versatile machines.
Adventure motorcycles are designed to combine the comfort of touring bikes with the capability of off-road machines. Featuring taller suspension, upright riding positions, and the versatility to handle both paved roads and rough terrain, they have grown in popularity among riders who want the freedom to explore a wide range of routes and riding conditions.
Many riders enjoy more than one type of riding – whether off-road, touring, racing or street-cruising. Purchasing separate bikes suited to each category gets very pricey, so the increasing popularity in adventure bikes is not surprising, bikes such as the CFMOTO 450MT, 700MT, 800MT-X and expected to be released later in the year 1000MT-X offer a versatile and cost-effective solution for riders who want one machine capable of doing it all.
With demand continuing to accelerate, the adventure motorcycle segment shows no signs of slowing. As riders increasingly seek versatility, value, and freedom from a single machine, manufacturers and dealers alike are well positioned to capitalise on one of the most dynamic growth areas in the UK motorcycle market.
